Arable land and farm machinery, thirty kilometres east of Bucharest.
Verfar S.r.l. is a Romanian agricultural company. We farm our own plots near Fundulea: corn, sunflower and wheat, with a no-till approach and a full set of equipment on site.
The company
A working farm: soil, crops and machines.
Verfar S.r.l. is based near Fundulea, about 30 kilometres east of Bucharest in Călărași County. Since 2014 the company has built an arable operation by purchasing farmland in the region and working it with its own machinery.
Today the farm holds 122 hectares across eight plots, plus tractors, seeders, soil tools, a workshop container and other equipment needed to run the land. The main crops are corn, sunflower and wheat in rotation.
The method is no-till where possible: a John Deere 1760 planter, brought in from the USA, seeds directly into last year’s crop residue without ploughing.

Tractors, seeders, soil tools and a workshop on site.
The farm runs with its own machines: a New Holland TM 155, a Ford 4000, the John Deere 1760 no-till planter, seeders, discs, a fertilizer spreader, sprayer, trailers and a container workshop.
How we farm
No-till, built for this soil and this climate.
From the start, Verfar has worked towards no-till farming. Direct seeding into last year’s residue keeps moisture in the soil, slowly raises organic matter, and stores carbon instead of releasing it through tillage.
The aim is stronger yields over time and a farm that copes better with dry spells. Cover crops are being added step by step, towards conservation agriculture principles.
